The lodge, with its polished, natural timber floors features three attractive bedrooms, all with ensuites; a large reception area, magnificent open plan living area and self-catering kitchen. It has a large guest laundry, utility areas, storage and wheelchair facilities. An extensive covered verandah wraps around two sides of the building providing an area where guests can relax and indulge in the extraordinary Karamea sunsets.
The breath-taking beauty and warm sub-tropical climate allows travellers to enjoy the many activities in the area: hiking, fishing, mountain biking, caving, bird watching, kayaking, surfing; or, swimming and windsurfing in the warm, safe waters of the Otaramhama Estuary. Alternatively, they may prefer a leisurely stroll through the property's two hectare Podocarp forest which features Rimu, Kahikitea, Rata, Totara and is alive with Kereru, Tui and Bellbird.
Additionally, the property has a three bedroom, open plan Fraemohs cottage.
Barely, a five minute drive, the Karamea village services the local area and provides all that a small community requires with shops, café and hotels. The nine hole golf course and tennis courts are well utilised by locals and tourists and a new $9,000,000, Area School for Years 1-13 is currently under construction. Karamea aerodrome has a sealed runway and caters for on demand flights by both rotary and fixed wing aircrafts.
